For all Your goodness I will keep on singing

We've only really been here for two full days so far, but this trip is amazing.  I love the place we are working, I love the ladies I am here with, I love Kenya, and I love what I get to do.

It's pretty simple: every morning, we get to the BCC, Baptist Community Center, by 8am and spend all day there, doing whatever we want or working wherever there is need.  The BCC is sponsored by Buckner and has a school, residential home, clinic, farm, technical classes, computer lab, and kitchen.  So there is a ton to do and a lot of flexibility!

Today, I was grading the kids' math workbooks in the teacher's lounge and one of the teachers started singing quietly "bless the Lord, oh my soul... worship His Holy Name"  I joined in "sing like never before before, oh my soul..." and it was such a beautiful moment to see how we are connected through Christ and music despite how different our daily experiences normally are.  It was amazing to talk to them about Jesus and their faith, in the midst of the completely different worlds we live in.  God is so alive and real globally!

I love it here.  I am learning so much already, the culture is absolutely amazing, and the kids are adorable.  I want to take all the orphans in the residential home back home with me.  The conversations I have had with teachers and others have absolutely blown my mind-- I will make sure to share some of them soon.  I love the work that Buckner is doing for the community, especially the children, here and am so incredibly thankful to be a part of it for the next month.

Tomorrow, I am teaching the 5th grade math class!!!!  It's absolutely perfect; I can hardly contain myself!
